What is the best part of your job?
Working with such bright and interesting people, and being part of such the fascinating publishing industry.
If you could give one piece of advice to yourself at the start of your career what would it be?
Invest in, build and maintain relationships. And worry less.
What is one act of kindness that you will remember forever?
Endless support and kindness from my parents. And Peta Koczy – an exceptional person, with amazing skill, kindness and empathy - and WOTF finalist. I was lucky enough to join her for an Ocean Youth Trust South voyage, with the aim of mentoring some younger students. Our second day’s sailing was rather rough, and all I managed was being seasick myself and helping with a strategic bucket for others going through the same. And all day, Peta kept saying thank you, and how well we were all doing. When you’re feeling rotten, and a bit useless, that means a huge amount. By the next day we all felt great – and much more confident.
What is your favourite quote?
“You can do anything; you can’t do everything – so chose” - Heather McGregor
If you could invite two people to dinner (dead or alive!) who would they be and why?
Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person to sail non-stop around the world single handed, and Bill Bailey.
